Pipeline Profits Review
Pipeline Profits - Let’s Take Another Look
A couple weeks ago I took aim at Pipeline Profits. Just to clarify it wasn’t because I thought what they were selling didn’t have value, it was because the way they were selling it was designed to create false hopes and liberate people from their money; whether the system was right for them or not.
I found out about the Pipeline Profits system from Andy Jenkins of StomperNet fame who earned an “unsubscribe” from me for the way he pumped up the hype on this latest Internet Marketing flash in the pan.
A Good Marketer Sees
John Reese must have felt the same as me, but rather than opening up his blog and pounding out a post taking shots at the Pipeline dudes, he thought, “Even though this thing is being over-hyped and people are getting more and more skeptical about being fleeced by Internet Marketers, what if there is good material in there. How can I pass that value on to my clients and not be affected by the backlash?”
Here’s a few clips from the email that John sent out:
And you’ve most likely seen a few of the videos by “Buck
and Brock” who allegedly brought in over a million bucks
in 90 days using some new ‘twist’ on list building.
(I’ll reveal what they are actually doing in a moment.)
Anyway, you’ve probably noticed that I haven’t mentioned
them or promoted their upcoming course…
Well, there’s a good reason for that…
I THOUGHT THEY WERE FULL OF CRAP!
And it continues…
Well, I just found out *I WAS WRONG* about ALL THREE
of those things and feel a bit silly now…
This past weekend, I met Buck and Brock (the guys everyone
are talking about) at an invitation-only seminar in
Buck and Brock seemed very nice and I asked them if
they’d have lunch with me so I could pick their brains –
I was really ‘curious’ to see what they were up to and
what they were really doing.
and then…
Essentially what they’ve done is identified three major “kinks”
in the usual process that needed to be overhauled:
1. All co-registration suppliers are not created equal — not
by a long shot. They started running test campaigns
with a lot of different suppliers and found the small few
that provide the best leads — i.e. the ones that buy stuff
at a much higher rate than the others.
2. If you don’t know what content and ‘approach’ to send
the new leads *INSTANTLY* when they request your
information you might as well as kiss your advertising
dollars goodbye.
3. By knowing how the real co-registration industry works
behind the scenes (tons of brokers involved) they figured
out how to eliminate the usual “$10,000 minimum buy”
so new lists can be quickly generated (and more importantly)
TESTED for much, much less — i.e. without much risk
before you ‘ramp up’ the overall process and generate
a HUGE number of subscribers.
So the bottom line is, I’ve checked these guys out and
they’re OK. They’re legit, they know what they’re doing,
and you’d benefit from what they can show you.
That’s how a real pro handles a problem, turn it into an opportunity. John realized that maintaining the trust he has built with his email list subscribers is the number one priority.
You do that by not just pumping something because it can make you big money but rather you actually check it out and make an honest recommendation. John Reese just took all the hype and insinuations of easy wealth and tossed it out the window; where it belongs.
Then he rolled up his sleeves and found the real business value in the product and, knowing that it would only be interesting to a small percentage of people on his list, he focused on getting the value into the hands of the folks who would benefit from it…not on making as many quick bucks as possible.
If you are going to check out Pipeline Profits <– this is John Reese’s affiliate link…he deserves the commission. You may also want to hop on his list at Marketing Secrets.
You’ve probably started getting the e-mails in the past day or two. Mine have been from Andy Jenkins of StomperNet fame and they are following the latest product launch template to the letter.
What’s Really Happening?
Let’s peal back a layer of the slightly off-color veneer on this whole Internet marketing product launch process and see what’s really going on.
The latest one to cross my email box is Product Pipeline [go here if you must...I know it's like a car crash, you just have to look - definitely not an affiliate link btw.]
Let’s see who the key players are in this latest drama…well actually they are the same players as in every other product launch.
Them: the guys or
gals who have discovered the latest greatest easiest way to make
money online…guaranteed ![]()
You: the average
person, who dreams of a wealth and thinks that a lot of money can be made
easily and without significant effort. And that anyone can do it if they find
the right opportunity.
Now that we’ve met the players in the game, let’s take a look at the game itself.
“How Two Internet Nobodys Pulled In $1,035,081.33 In Just Over 90 Days Using A Massive Traffic Generation System That Delivers Over 10,000 Qualified Visitors A Day!”
If you actually watch the video, you hear them mention that it took only a couple days to set the whole system up to generate this massive wealth.
Let’s recap: $1,035,081.33 in 90 days for only a couple days work.
Is that a tempting offer to you? Of course it is, it would be to anyone. An easy life without financial worry. Spending all your time indulging your fantasies. Right? Maybe you should ask these folks.
William “Bud” Post won $16.2 million in the
“I wish it never happened. It was totally a nightmare,” says Post.
It is complete exploitation. [By the way, complete exploitation is totally okay in this circumstance; it's your job not to fall for it, not their job not to try and exploit you.] The big fat problem with get money quick for little or no effort is that you don’t really want money. No-one does.
You think money will help you and make your life better, but it won’t; you’re just deceiving yourself…which makes you a complete sheep and in serious danger of being introduced to the shears of every slick Internet marketer.
What you want is not money and it is a great and wonderful paradox that just by being seduced by an offer like Pipeline Profits, you are more or less admitting that you are not ready to be wealthy.
The Best Case Scenario
Let’s say you signed up, paid the $xxxx dollars or whatever this “Yes, you can just flat-out HAVE this entire 47 minute presentation for free.” is going to cost and it was really exactly as they promise and you did make over a million dollars in 8 weeks.
Guess what? You’d be screwed because you’d just be a rich person who falls for sucker deals and still has a low financial intelligence. It would be a bit like owning a private jet, but not having a pilot’s license…you’d just crash and hurt or kill yourself.
Increasing the size of your inner money bucket is the only way to really get wealthy. It really is a very simple formula, but it involves a word that I’m coming to realize is the scariest word in the English language: responsibility.
If all you want is to be free of your problems; sorry, even the rich have problems and probably they are worse than the problems you face. There are a lot of good reasons to be less than your full potential and avoiding bigger problems is definitely one of them.
It was 2 years ago that I read my first Rich
Dad book and began to take responsibility for my own financial situation; I
constantly played his Cashflow
101 game to begin to increase my financial I.Q. At that time my net worth
was about 9,000 dollars. In early December 2006, it was about $68,000 and that
doesn’t include my online business. Also, I haven’t had a job for the last 8
months I’ve been living off of savings and passive income.
Sure it isn’t a million in 8 weeks, but I would argue that my 68k is worth more than that Pipeline-Profits million, because it sits on a more solid financial foundation. Work on your foundation because then it really won’t matter how much you have in your bank account, you’ll know that money will never be a problem for you.

Edition #104
It’s quite the winter wonderland here in
I just want to say a quick word about the new Pipeline Profits program that is bombarding your inboxes today. What blew me away was the sheer number of guru’s using the same pre-written hyped up email. I received about 15 emails for it, so I figure I better at least mention it.
First of all, what is it? Bottom line; it’s about using co-registration leads to build massive lists and to market products to those leads in a systematic approach.
Co-reg is a very common technique used by marketers and even major corporations. When you sign up for something online, and there’s a bunch of boxes that you can check for more information–that’s co-registration. If you want to see an example, go sign up for Hotmail.
Does it work? Yes and no. If you’ve seen the Pipeline Profits video, you’ll see that these guys grossed over $1 Million in 90 days. So obviously it works.
On the other hand, it has some serious problems. In my opinion, most emails that get sent to co-registration leads are spam or at least “spammy”. And even if you’re not sending spam, you WILL be accused of it. I wrote a review back in May about my bad experience with co-reg leads.
But don’t write me off as just another jaded marketer who’s been burned by co-reg. I know it works for some people, I know there are different ways of doing it, and I know that there is a vastly wide range of quality when it comes to the leads themselves.
Nevertheless, I think there is inherent risk involved for anyone using co-reg (including the guys making millions). Consider how it works. You get a bunch of names and email addresses (and IP addresses which supposedly makes it legal). You’ve never met these people, and they’ve never heard of you. You load them into an email program and blast off your message.
The guys from the Pipeline Profits video say they are getting 10,000-100,000 new leads a day. Hmmm… do you suppose any of those people will click the “report as spam” button when they receive the first message? You better believe it.
I also look at the fact that my email management company, Aweber, strictly prohibits the use of purchased leads, including co-registration. There’s a reason they don’t allow those types of leads to be imported, and it’s closely tied to the fact that Aweber is one of the most reputable email managers in the industry with the highest delivery rate.
I was invited to the closed-door JV program for this product, but I am not promoting it…EVEN though they have proof that it will sell like crazy (which would put MANY thousands of dollars in my pocket…no joke).
I am NOT saying that it doesn’t work. But this is a technique that I personally would not use, and therefore I am not going to recommend that you use it either. If co-reg is something that you’re planning on doing anyway, then by all means buy the program so you can learn from their experience (the product will be launched soon). But if you’re just trying to build your online business, I feel there are some better home study courses (I’ll be reviewing two of them in the next 30 days) that will give you a more balanced education instead of focusing on one tactic.
One of them is Russell’s course, which I have sitting on my desk right now, and I’ll be posting my full review in the next couple days. It will be released on January 2nd, and you can get a $100-off coupon here.
As always, you are welcome to post your comments here in the blog.
Have a great day!

Most savvy Internet marketers didn't need YouTube or
the cover of Time magazine to tell them video is the
next big thing. Most web marketers were already using
and benefiting from online videos long before Time and
other pundits declared video and self generated content
to be having a profound impact on our daily lives.
Many online marketers have been using videos for years to
promote and sell their products. Mainly because the use of
video as a marketing tool is cost-effective and a very simple
way to market. It is one marketing trend no online marketer
can ignore. It is already playing a major role in online
marketing and will play an even greater role in the future.
Just look at how video is being used by Brock Felt and Buck
Rizvi to roll out their PipeLine Profits venture. These
relatively unknown marketers are using video from the recent
StomperNet event to introduce and gather buzz for their
PipeLine (Co-Registration) Profits (www.pipelineprofits.com).
You should also note how effectively blogs and podcasts
are being used in this marketing product roll-out.
More and more well known Internet marketers are using
videos to create buzz, to promote and sell their products.
From John Reese promotional video, standing at the Great Wall
of China announcing his upcoming 'online training courses'
(www.income.com) to Joel Comm plugging his latest Adsense
Templates package on Google Video to Michael Cheney's
tongue-in-cheek CMN Cheney's Marketing News. (www.cheneysmarketingnews.com)
Note how Cheney is offering these videos for placement on
any site around the web, building links and brand recognition
in the process.
Online marketers are exploiting the immediate connection
and effectiveness of using video in their marketing.
Videos are used to inform potential customers on different
products, services or promotions offered by the marketer.
These seasoned marketers know building a solid relationship
with your clients is a main key to boosting your sales.
The use of video is an effective, and simple way to make
this connection.
Most marketers also use blogs to update and connect with
potential clients. Blogs and RSS feeds are perhaps
the more important marketing tools which actually give
videos their unlimited potential. The real power behind the
throne. With the advent of the next RSS empowered Windows
(
greater role in the Internet marketing arena. Video has
truly arrived in the online marketing world.
Basically, what we will see is every website on the net
becoming its own broadcasting system. Its own television
channel catering to a specific niche or a broad topic
depending on the subject matter covered by the site.
A billion channel Internet powered by RSS and video.
One only has to look at how a prominent site like
WebProNews.com is using videos to see how this scenario
will play out.
But what is truly revolutionary, you don't have to be a major
player to get in this marketing game, even the smallest
marketer can use and benefit from implementing their own
videos. A simple video or digital camera can produce an
informational video within minutes. These can range from
the so-called 'poor man' Camtasia videos, to elaborate
infomercials and commercials. You can then upload these
videos to your blog or site and distribute them around
the web within seconds. Those concerned with bandwidth costs
can always upload their videos to YouTube or Google Video.
This simple video marketing system is available to everyone.
Current savvy online marketers are using these videos
as effective marketing tools. No reason why you can't
follow their lead and use videos to:
1. Introduce yourself or your product
2. Create buzz during a product launch
3. Build your list by offering free videos
4. Create video content to enrich your site
5. Build a more personal relationship with subscribers
6. Keep in contact with your clients
7. Create a video sales letter/pitch to sell your product or service
Nothing beats the personal and direct connection video
or TV makes with your potential customers and follow-up
leads. It's the infomercial personalized for the web. Soon
marketers will be using video software that automatically
inserts their subscriber's name in their videos for a more
personal touch. Similar to what we see done now with
AutoResponders with the field {first_name) personalizing
all correspondence with our subscribers. Expect this
personalized video marketing to be a big trend in the
coming years.
Your own name is still the sweetest word on the planet.
Most savvy marketers will take advantage of this
fact by personalizing their messages and building
a genuine relationship with their clients. Personalized
videos will help cement this relationship and make
it stronger -- all contributing to more sales for
the marketer, of course!
From a marketing viewpoint: videos, podcasts, broadcatching,
webcasting and video casting are all phrases for the same
thing: they are all ways to get your message in front
of your customers. Obviously video will help you reach
more customers. Video will make it easier for you to
promote your products or services.
Perhaps, more importantly, videos will make it easier
for you to sell your products and services. It is
one more tool every online marketer should have in
their marketing arsenal. Video is already the future
of online marketing, you should be taking full advantage
of it right now.
