You will want to hold the new bid price for 5 days to allow the search engines to adjust while still keeping up the traffic volume from your high placement. Then you can reduce your bid price again by another 5 cents and hold for another 5 days. Over time you will significantly reduce your cost and still hold your top position because the search engines are giving you credit for the traffic volume generated so you remain at the top spot even with a lower cost.

Selling advertising on your newsletters gives others a chance to expose their products to your private data base, which everyone is very eager to do. Your advertisers must be able to make enough profit themselves to at the very least cover their cost of advertising with you.

Have you heard the latest? Google is giving away millions of dollars in free ads! Or so many people would like you to believe. In our competitive world of internet marketing, there will always be people who think they can outsmart a system, especially Google Adwords. And with that said, there will always be people who believe those people and will pay good money to get the information.

What you have to realize is that there is always a catch. Do you really believe if there was a way to truly beat Adwords that Google would not catch the oversight, especially with this information widely spread over the internet? With this so called “system” you will still "pay" for your ads but apparently there is a way to offset the cost.

There is an author who claims to have received $87 million in free ads and made $314 million in product sales from over 16 ventures, not in Adsense so please do not get confused this thinking this amount of money can be made from Adsense.

If you read the sales page carefully, this person says he was a coach. I know life coaches and speakers make great money and the sales letter says over a period of 9 years, along with joint ventures, internet based firms and eBay selling.

The author goes on to tell 3 principle strategies that any person doing business online should already know. Firstly, everyone knows that you have to write an effective ad. How else are you going to draw people to even click in the first place? Secondly, everyone on the planet is doing keyword research for their business, and thirdly, who in their right minds would not want to eliminate all advertising costs, if this were truly possible?

The author suggests you set your Adwords budget to $10,000 per day and your per click cost at $100. Of course you will remain at the top of your competition if you do this. But do not be too shocked when you see that you are paying for those ads. Remember this author said he earned his money through product sales, and I am sure this is what offset the costs of those clicks.

When you attempt to place high bids on your keywords, you better believe that you need a product that will convert like crazy to re-coop those costs. Common sense should tell you that if you earn much more than you spend, then in essence your advertising costs are zero.

Zap back to the mid-90's; two students named Larry Page & Sergey Brin are working on a new research project at Stanford University, California. Using the leading search engines of their day; Inktomi and AltaVista, they're entering the word 'Inktomi' into the Inktomi search engine and 'AltaVista' into the AltaVista search engine.

How many results do you think they got; a Thousand? A Million?

Zero.

Larry & Sergey couldn't believe it. Because Inktomi and AltaVista search engines were the leaders, but couldn't even find their very own websites in an online search. This added to the boys' conviction. Now they were sure they'd soon be blasting the competition with their own new creation; Google.

Google didn't get to be king of search and PPC (Pay-Per-Click) by thinking like everyone else. They worked 'outside the box' to develop an alternate plan of attack. The results; obscene profits and domination of the search engine world.

In short, Google used imagination to get where they are today.

To beat competitors in your business category you must use imagination too. Here are 5 top techniques that'll boost your performance. While your ad is climbing the Results ladder, you'll be getting far more attention from prospective customers.

Introducing these tips may take a little time and effort (perhaps that's why most advertisers aren't using them). But there are resources available to help you. What's more, these methods won't cost you a penny.

1. Tailor the Web Address Displayed in Your Ads

Let's say Mr Smith is searching online for apples. Meanwhile, you own 'Fruit' dot-com. If you happen to have the word, 'apples' in your ad's web address, when it comes to providing Mr Smith with his search results Google is going to love you.

Problem is, you don't have the word, 'apples' in your existing web address. Well, there's an easy way to fix this. It's called a subdomain. Subdomains are a great way to ensure the keyword entered by your prospective customer, is actually displayed at the bottom your Google ad text.

So let's create a subdomain using your web host's control panel, so that 'Apples' will be a subdomain of your existing site. This allows you to display 'Apples.Fruit' dot com as the ad's web address. Your ad will contain address text matching exactly what Mr Smith is seeking. What's more, 'apples' will be highlighted in bold text.

Result? A big, free boost for your ad.

Most website hosts such as Network Solutions, Go Daddy and others will allow you to have 70 or more subdomains. So, you can have many tailored ads with different keywords in your address; 'Pears.Fruit' dot-com, 'Bananas.Fruit' dot-com - you get the idea.

By the way; don't try to fool Google by entering a subdomain that doesn't exist. Within a matter of hours they'll catch you. And switch your ad off until you've fixed it.

2. Interesting Text Beats Boring Competitors' Cash

As legendary ad man Claude Hopkins said many years ago; "Any studied attempt to sell, if apparent, creates corresponding resistance."

Which is more interesting; 'Online Tax Services; we're the best,' or 'What the IRS doesn't Want You to Know?' The goal is to think creatively. Produce text so tempting, internet users yearn to learn more.

So don't get in customers' faces - be subtle. Ease your way into their minds. Because ads that give people a real reason to click, work. You're limited only by your imagination.

3. Always Place the Keyword in Your Headline

If you're bidding on the keyword, 'Hammers,' make sure the word 'Hammers' is in your headline. Google will then show that word as bold text; a huge benefit. You'll need to create a number of tailored ads in order to make this work. Perhaps you'll have one ad for every 2 or 3 keywords. No problem - Google makes this quite easy.

4. Put the Price in Your Text

People on the internet are busy. They want info - now. If you display a price of your product or service in your ad, you're likely providing them with more info than your competitors are. Get ready for more clicks. And more clicks means your position soars.

5. Be Frugal with Google

Why pay for clicks that do you no good? Calendar studies show there's likely at least one day a week you'd have to be insane to run your ad. For example, if you're selling office supplies, it could be the weekend your ads should be off. If you're selling theme park tickets, it could be Mondays that make no sense for you.

By studying your ad's daily click patterns you can discover the days or hours to put your ad to sleep. This saves you money. Money which can be spent later, and boost your ad during the proper times.

Many of you will have come across an ebook called "Get Google Ads Free". The author of this book (Dr. John Cohen) claims to have received $87 million in free pay per clicks (adwords/overture etc) over a 9 year period using a secret of his. But does "Get Google Ads Free" stack up to his outrageous claims?

When I first saw the sales page for this ebook I was going through a steep learning curve with google adwords and was looking for anything to reduce costs and improve conversion rates.

When I saw this I thought my prayers may have been answered. Even though I was in a desperate state of mind I was skeptical of the hyped up sales page. I mean, how can anyone possibly get $87 million in free ppc's. But alas, curiosity got the better of me and I bought the ebook.

As I was expecting some amazing, unbelievable secret technique, disappointment set in upon first aquaintance. There was no easy, clever way to get adwords completely free with little work (though if we're being honest, it doesn't exist).

As I read on however, my disappointment disappeared. What the ebook is based around is a simple, clever marketing strategy that has been used before. However, not many people online know about this strategy. While it doesn't magically give free ppc's, if used properly, it should offset the costs.

When he first explained this, I slapped myself on the head mouthing "why didn't I think of this?" It is one of those things that is oh so simple, yet extremely clever at the same time. The author goes on to explain how to use it so we can not only offset our adwords costs, but also how to profit from it. He does this in great detail and I was surprised by how much content he crammed into it. Another thing I liked, was that it wasn't entirely confined to this strategy. He gave lots of good information on optimizing your adwords account and even went into some offline advertising.

The ebook is well written and presented. It is 125 pages long, yet it doesn't drag. He has also put together an excellent, extensive affiliate section which is even longer than the sales page.

So, is Get Google Ads Free worth the $67 asking price? If you are looking for completely free adwords with no strings attached, then keep looking (and looking, and looking). But if you want to know how you can offset or at least reduce PPC costs you should consider Get Google Ads Free. Even if you don't use the central idea of the ebook , there is enough sideline information to justify its purchace.

Google Free Ads is a new program that is taking the internet by storm. And why not – the very thought of getting free ads on Google is enough to send any internet entrepreneur's heart racing. I must admit, that when I first saw the ad my eyes lit up and all I could see was dollar signs. But, there was a real sense of skepticism behind my excitement. Why on earth would Google give me free ads? After all, the majority of Google's gazillion dollar income comes from advertising.

The first impression is that this guy found some kind of loophole in the system – something that we can exploit to get top PPC placements without paying for it. The author, a Dr. Jon Cohen (retired MD), claims to have made more than $314 million by getting over $87 million dollars of free advertising! A pretty (amazingly) bold claim by any standard, but then again, this is internet marketing and some people feed their families by making bold claims.

To add to his bold claim of getting free Google ads with his ‘secret’ strategy, Dr. Jon claims that he can do the same on other PPC networks like MSN Adcentre, Kanoodle and Yahoo Search Marketing. This was enough to push me over the edge and I just had to see for myself.

So, how does he do it? What is this secret for getting free Google ads? Well, it really is quite ingenious and not all that revolutionary. In fact, it is simply a migration of an age old 'printed media' idea translated to the internet. In simple terms, the way to get free ads from Google is to buy ‘adspace’ and then sell it for a profit, while you also get to advertise. Let me explain...

Getting the very top positions in PPC is priceless and it is like having a number one placement in a search result, but without the work – you buy your way to the top. Now, these top spots are not cheap and can cost a couple of dollars for a single click. But what if you were willing to spend the money and buy the top spots, get the clicks and then sell advertising space on the pages that get the clicks?

In traditional printed media some companies did exactly that – and they are still doing it and making a fortune. What these companies would do is to buy full pages (for advertising) and negotiate a good price with the magazine for buying x amount of pages for x amount of years or months. This ensures the advertising income for the magazine and they are most often willing to cut a good deal. The advertising company will then go out and sell advertising space on these pages that they bought from the magazine.

Translate this to the internet and you've got the Google Free Ads strategy for getting free advertising. Obviously DR. Jon had to do a lot of testing and tweaking to make this work and he actually came up with a mathematical formula for how much you need to pay and sell your ad space for. The real beauty of this Google Free Ads system is that you can even make money from selling the ad space you buy, while advertising your own offers and building an opt-in list.

But, here's where it gets very powerful. Once it works on Google, simply duplicate it on as many PPC networks as you can get your hands on. This is by no means an easy strategy and like almost all the internet marketing programs out there its creator claims for it to be much easier than it actually is. Does it work? I don't know. My instinct tells me that it most certainly can work, but the margins are very small and you do need some cash to start off with. If and when it works it will probably work big time.

Although I am very familiar with the concept in the printed media, I must admit that I am slightly annoyed that I never thought of doing it online myself. I suppose that this is the one program that you have to try for yourself to see if it works. For what it's worth it looks good in theory and you can actually get free Google ads with the strategies in the Google Free Ads program. There is enough flexibility in this strategy to allow you to make multiple sales from a single ad. Even if you pay a lot for it, your returns will exceed it and Dr. Jon Cohen’s strategies for making money far exceeds the money you will spend on the ads. If anything, Google Free Ads is a fresh and ingenious take on making money online.

He even posts what appears to be an actual response by the firm’s lawyer, but which is perhaps nothing more than his own posts disguised and designed to make himself look better (as anyone can see that the dialogue appears “manufactured” instead of genuine). What some people will do to project themselves as “Savior to the rest of us” and “The People’s Advocate.” How ridiculous indeed. Despite the “crybaby” from across the pond, Rob Snot (Ooops! I must have meant Rob Scott!) has failed miserably to put even a dent in the firm’s sales!
